CPEC to provide quality life to 63% population of member countries: Dr. Gao WangliBreaking

BEIJING, Sept 16th (INP): Associate Professor for Institute of International Relations in China Foreign Affairs University, Dr Gao Wangli has said that China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) including other various infrastructural and developmental projects being a part of One Belt One Road (OBOR) initiative were aimed to provide the quality life to the 63 % global population of the member countries. While addressing the delegation of journalists, Dr. Wangli said that CPEC is the flagship project of OBOR initiative moving ahead smoothly providing the maximum benefits to the Pakistani nation. She said that Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) have also been financing in Pakistan on Shorkot-Khanewal section of National Motorway M-4. She highlighted the fact that with the maximum utilization of train networks linking China with European countries distance was being completed in 11 days which was being covered in 45 days via Maritime routes. Under the vision of “Made in China 2025” Robots, Maritime engineering, space technology, information technology, advanced subway, power equipment, pharmaceuticals, agriculture equipment, new material and green cars were being recognized all around the world, she went on saying. She briefed that manufacturing industry was performing very efficiently and now the half of world’s TV were being developed in China. She noted that 2nd and 3rd largest economies of the world belongs to Asia but still nine least developed countries of the globe exist in the same continent while more than700 million people live under $ 1.25 a day, which account for 60 % of people in poverty. She also shared a Chinese quotation that “To build fortune, roads should be build first” so Chinese president Xi Jinping believes that “Let us work harder with our sleeves rolled up”. She added that Asian infrastructure demands from 2010 to 2010 accounted as $8,280 billion while World Bank, Asian Development Bank and International Monetary Fund (IMF) may only provide $ 10 billion for the purpose which is far away than the actual needs.   She mentioned that with the 57 founding member countries, AIIB was established with the patronization of China which have started financing projects in various countries. 52 Eurasian countries, 10 ASEAN nations, 14 European countries, 6 countries of Shanghai Cooperation Organization, The United Arab Emirates, Oman, Iran, Jordan, Kuwait, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, 2 countries from Oceania, 2 from Africa and one from Latin America have become members of AIIB. She also shared that more than $ 340 billion have been allocated for hundreds of projects under AIIB, BRICS New Development Bank, CDB, Exim Bank, ADBC and Silk Road Fund linking with OBOR initiative. Dr Wangli also added that OBOR initiative will be beneficial for 63 % of population having the share of 2.1 trillion USD in GDP with 29 % of world’s output. She also added that OBOR have recognized Chinese culture, cuisine and music around the world and people were getting used to the new kinds of music, delicious taste and traditions having the history of more than 5,000 years.
