It may be mentioned that e-transport sector in Pakistan is expanding. The service providers are now eying a larger market with mass e-transport solutions. In Pakistan things have changed a lot on the transportation landscape since 2015. After the two strong competitors Careem and Uber there are some more and fast moving companies that have moved in to solve the transportation issues of Pakistan. The Dubai-headquartered Careem that is being acquired by Uber is launching Careem Bus to challenge Airlift. Airlift is an app based technology startup that offers a smart bus service tailor made for daily commuters. With a fare of only 50 PKR people can reserve seat in an air conditioned mini bus with hundreds of routes spread all over Karachi and Lahore. Siayara on the other hand is a new online taxi service that caters people looking for inexpensive transport in Karachi.
Pakistan’s e transport market seems to be boosting up, evincing significant investor interest. Such initiatives in the transport sector therefore are genuinely needed specially in urban centers, where rapid urbanization has become a major concern.
