China says Gen. Bajwa extraordinary leader of Pak ArmyBreaking

BEIJING, Aug 21 (INP): China while praising high the appointment of General Qamar Javed Bajwa as Chief of the Army Staff for the second term, said, ‘Gen Bajwa is an extraordinary leader of Pakistan Army’. A spokesperson of the Chinese Foreign Ministry Geng Shuang while commenting on the appointment of General Bajwa for the second term, said “We noticed this decision by Pakistani government. ‘Gen Bajwa is an extraordinary leader of Pakistan Army. He is old friend of Chinese government and the Chinese army.” General Bajwa has made positive contributions to further development of China-Pakistan relations. We believe under his leadership, Pakistan army will continue to make contributions for upholding Pakistan sovereignty and security's interests and regional peace and stability.” On August 19, Prime Minister Imran Khan gave three-year extension to the army chief in view of the “regional security environment”. General Bajwa, who was set to retire on November 29 on completion of his three-year term, will continue to serve as head of the armed forces until November 2022.
