December 26, 2017

BEIJING, Dec. 26 (INP): China has geared up its efforts to promote regional and international peace and development through diplomatic channels and by implementing its World's connectivity plan. This was stated by the Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi in an interview with People’s Daily. He reiterated that his country will fulfill its international responsibilities for achieving the desired results. As the largest developing country, the diplomatic work of China will serve the creation of a better external environment for the country's modernization, Wang said adding "On the other hand, we will also undertake our international responsibilities, making new contributions to the development and progress of entire humanity. Wang said China will make its best effort to host the Boao Forum for Asia, the Shanghai Cooperation Organization summit, the Forum for China-Africa Cooperation and the China International Import Expo next year to "open a new chapter" for win-win cooperation between China and other countries. China will promote the healthy development of China-U.S. relations, maintain high-level strategic coordination with Russia, consolidate the sound momentum for relations with European countries, and work to build a framework for major-country relations featuring overall stability and balanced development, he added. Ever since its founding 68 years ago, China has been expanding its partnerships worldwide, aiming to safeguard world peace and stability while promoting development. To that end, China has proposed, over the past five years, the Belt and Road Initiative and the vision of building a community of shared destiny for humankind, which will help establish a just and fair global governance system. During the past 68 years, China, under the leadership of the Communist Party of China and the Chinese government, has made a lot of achievements in various fields and grown into the second largest economy in the world. Wang Yi said "China has established different forms of partnership with 97 countries and international organizations. It is fair to say our circle of friends is getting bigger and bigger." INP/J/AH/LK
