BEIJING, November 6 (INP): China and Afghanistan have decided to deepen their anti-terrorism cooperation, through a strong working mechanism.
This was stated by the spokesperson of the Chinese Foreign Ministry Geng Shuang at a regular news briefing here on Wednesday.
He said, External Security Commissioner of the Foreign Ministry Cheng Guoping and First Deputy Adviser on National Security Council of Afghanistan Atiqullah Noshir co-chaired the third meeting of China-Afghanistan inter-departmental and inter-regional security cooperation mechanism here last week.
During the meeting, the two sides discussed anti-terrorism security situation in the international region and the security cooperation between the two countries.
According to the spokesperson, both sides exchanged views on deepening security cooperation between the two countries.
He said, terrorism is a public enemy of mankind. In the face of the increasingly complex and serious terrorist threats and challenges, China is willing to further strengthen anti-terrorism security cooperation with relevant countries including Afghanistan and Pakistan to jointly safeguard international and regional security and stability.
Replying to a question, the spokesperson rejected US Secretary of State Pompeo’s statement that there is any detention camp in Xinjiang.
He emphasized that there is no such thing as Mr. Pompeo’s so-called “detention camp” in Xinjiang.
“ The United States has used religious shackles to smear China’s policy of smearing and smearing China’s policy of arbitrarily and arbitrarily. The Chinese side expressed strong dissatisfaction and resolute opposition.
We have said many times that Xinjiang affairs are purely China's internal affairs. The issue of Xinjiang is not a matter of nationality, religion, or human rights, but an issue of counter-terrorism and anti-secession. Instead of launching a war to deal with terrorism, China has adopted education and training in accordance with the law to help people affected by extreme and horrible thoughts to return to society and normal life. Xinjiang, which was once endangered by terrorism, has not had a terror incident for nearly three years.
This is the best manifestation of respect for human rights. Thousands of foreign envoys, officials of international organizations, and media people have visited Xinjiang. They have witnessed the remarkable achievements of preventive anti-terrorism and de-extremism measures in Xinjiang.
We hope that the individual politicians of the United States will take off colored glasses, abandon double standards, stop using the issue of Xinjiang to discredit China’s words and deeds, and do more things that are conducive to mutual trust and cooperation between China and the United States.”
