Beijing, Dec 07 (INP): Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi has said that the developing countries have always been an important force for progress in human rights. Addressing the opening ceremony of the first South-South Human Rights Forum, he said that developing countries have always been an important force for progress in human rights. They should grasp the general trend of the world, follow the requirements of the times, Respect, fairness, justice and win-win cooperation, promote the building of a community of human destiny and make new efforts to achieve social progress, improvement of people's livelihood and basic freedoms. Wang Yi said: First, we must uphold the principle of peaceful promotion of human rights. Security is the greatest human right. Peace is the blessing of humankind and war is the evil of the world. Without peace, what about human rights? No safety, what about dignity? We must uphold the purposes and principles of the UN Charter. Regardless of changes in the situation, basic norms such as sovereignty and territorial integrity and non-interference in the internal affairs are the foundation of international relations and cannot be shaken. No matter how the times are developed, multilateralism and the collective security mechanism are all important support for international relations, no violation. Second, we must uphold the promotion of human rights through development. Take poverty eradication as the core and earnestly implement the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development so as to ensure that all people enjoy the fruits of development and the courage to reform and innovation so as to achieve "overtaking" and "leapfrogging development", safeguarding an open world economy, National development creates a favorable external environment. Third, we must uphold the promotion of human rights through cooperation. If human rights are to be used as a tool for the whole people, they will ultimately be harmed by others. Only by using human rights as a link of cooperation can they be self-serving and capable. We should promote dialogue and cooperation among all parties on the basis of equality and mutual respect. The path of human rights development can neither be set at one, nor can it be applied mechanically. Neither can it be imposed as Eastern or Western, but diversified and localized. Different roads and systems are not superior or inferior. Only distinctive features should be eclectic and different. Fourth, we must adhere to fairness and promote human rights. Promote the representation and voice of developing countries in the global system of human rights governance, promote international human rights cooperation to take care of the concerns of developing countries and make developing countries the beneficiaries of international human rights cooperation and governance. Let us work together to promote the healthy development of the cause of human rights worldwide and make greater contribution to the peaceful development, prosperity and dignity of mankind. INP/AK
