July 31, 2024

The World Cricket League (WCL) has emerged as most-watched global league in India and second most watched league at international level. The semi final between India and Australia saw the reflection of yesteryear's Yuvraj Singh, Pathan Brothers and Harbhajan Singh while the Pakistan-India finals was a great trip down the memory lane with more than 30 Million audience experiencing it. The WCL garnered a staggering 145 million viewers in India alone, of which 75 million unique viewers tuned in on Star Sports, and approximately 70 million engaged through the digital broadcast platforms. Pakistan also saw impressive numbers, with digital viewership reaching 40 million. The TV ratings for the finals soared to an incredible 4.9, bringing the total reach to 50 million viewers in the country. Incidentally these numbers are better than almost all the global leagues broadcasted in both countries.

The WCL’s success wasn’t limited to the subcontinent. In the UK, the league had great visibility with average daily audience surpassing many concurrent cricket tournaments. EaseMyTrip, as the title sponsor, has greatly benefited from the fantastic viewership. EaseMyTrip's CEO and Co-Founder, Mr. Nishant Pitti, stated, “We entered WCL purely for branding purposes and out of our love for cricket. However, to our surprise, we observed a good increase in Website & Global sales due to WCL.” CEO and Founder of WCL Harshit Tomar expressed his delight, stating, “We are thrilled with the overwhelming response from fans around the world. This milestone is a testament to the hard work of everyone involved in making the WCL a world-class event.” The WCL’s inaugural season exceeded its targeted reach and was extremely successful amongst the global audience and ended up drawing more than 300 million viewers globally. This remarkable achievement shows the league’s potential to grow even further in the coming years and solidify its place among the elite cricket leagues worldwide.
