Multan Sultans’ Usama Mir has etched his name in the annals of Pakistan Super League (PSL) history by delivering an outstanding bowling performance against Lahore Qalandars in the 14th match of PSL 9. Exceptional display by Mir on the field led to the dismissal of six Lahore Qalandars' players, conceding just 40 runs in his allotted four overs. Multan Sultans secured a convincing victory over defending champions Lahore Qalandars, triumphing by a significant margin of 60 runs in the match held yesterday. With this stellar achievement, Usama Mir surpassed the legendary Shahid Afridi, establishing himself as the premier bowling spinner in an innings in the history of PSL.
Previously, this record was held by Afridi, who had claimed five wickets for seven runs while representing Peshawar Zalmi against Quetta Gladiators in 2018. Ravi Bopara holds the overall record for the best bowling figures in PSL, having secured six wickets for 16 runs against Lahore Qalandars while playing for Karachi Kings. Notably, Faheem Ashraf, Umar Gul, and Imran Tahir also feature prominently in this esteemed list, having claimed six wickets each in separate matches. Mir's remarkable feat underscores his talent and prowess on the cricket field, solidifying his status as a formidable force in the world of cricket and earning him a well-deserved place in PSL history.
