Former test cricketers Umar Gul and Saeed Ajmal have been appointed bowling coaches of Pakistan cricket team. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) on Tuesday announced that former test cricketers Umar Gul and Saeed Ajmal have been appointed as the bowling coaches for the Pakistan Men's National Cricket Team. Gul will be the fast bowling coach, while Ajmal will be the spin bowling coach. The duo will join the team on its upcoming tour of Australia and New Zealand, which begins in December. 39-year-old Umar Gul has served as bowling coach in the T20 series against Afghanistan in Sharjah this year.
He has also been the bowling coach of Quetta Gladiators in the last PSL season and the bowling coach of Afghanistan in the ICC Men's T20 Cricket World Cup 2022. Umar Gul has said that Pakistan will try to take the fast bowling of the team to new heights. Former world number one ODI bowler Saeed Ajmal will take over as spin bowling coach. Saeed, who made his international debut in 2008, represented Pakistan in 35 Tests, 113 ODIs and 64 T20Is, taking 447 wickets across the three formats. He also served as spin bowling coach with HBL PSL franchise Islamabad United. 46-year-old Saeed Ajmal has said that he is grateful to Zaka Ashraf for providing the opportunity.
