Tight security measures finalized with 17,000 police personnel for PSL 9Breaking

With the ninth edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) on the horizon, comprehensive security arrangements have been solidified to ensure a safe and successful tournament. A staggering total of 17,176 police personnel will be stationed across the three host districts of Lahore, Multan, and Rawalpindi. According to the officials, in addition to the substantial police presence, three army companies will bolster security efforts for the event. The allocation of police personnel includes 6,936 in Lahore, 5,700 in Multan, and 4,538 in Rawalpindi. Collaborative efforts will extend to managing traffic flow in host cities, monitoring team movements, and implementing jammer installations during matches. Aerial surveillance will be conducted via helicopters, complemented by round-the-clock monitoring through Safe Cities cameras. Enhanced surveillance measures include the installation of additional cameras along team routes and within stadiums.

Mobile command vans and drones equipped with cameras will further augment the security plan, with 20 Dolphin and 20 Elite Force teams deployed for route patrolling. Emphasizing the importance of player safety, cricket teams participating in the PSL will receive VIP treatment, ensuring their well-being throughout the tournament. The opening match, featuring Lahore Qalandars and Islamabad United, promises an electrifying start, with other marquee clashes such as Lahore Qalandars versus Karachi Kings eagerly anticipated. Gaddafi Stadium and National Bank Stadium are primed to host key encounters, with each team scheduled to play matches at their respective home grounds. Notable fixtures include Peshawar Zalmi's four matches at Pindi Cricket Stadium and Quetta Gladiators' multi-city engagements, culminating in a clash against Multan Sultans at Multan Cricket Stadium on February 25th. As anticipation builds for PSL 9, stringent security measures underscore the commitment to a seamless and secure tournament experience for players and fans alike.
