Following Pakistan's continuous poor performance in Test cricket, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is reportedly planning to remove Shan Masood from the national team's captaincy. According to media reports, the decision is expected to be finalized after the ongoing Test series against England. Shan Masood, who became the first Pakistan captain to lose six consecutive Test matches, has led the team to the bottom of the Test Championship table. Sources indicate that discussions are underway to replace Masood with potential candidates such as Saud Shakeel, Muhammad Rizwan, or Salman Ali Agha. An important meeting of the PCB selection committee and the team's head coaches is expected to take place today, where new names for leadership roles will be discussed. Shan Masood was appointed as Test captain on November 15, 2023, and was supposed to lead the team until the end of the current Test Championship cycle. The PCB's decision comes after growing concerns over Pakistan's declining performance in Test cricket and the need for a leadership change to revive the team's fortunes.
