Rana Sanaullah, advisor to the Ministry of Inter-Provincial Coordination, has voiced strong criticism against sports federations, describing them as predominantly led by retired individuals. He expressed disappointment over the country's poor performance in sports, citing that only a handful of athletes out of a population of 25 crores have qualified for the Olympics. Sanaullah emphasized the need for future sports federations to be more accountable for their performance targets. He stressed that while winning medals in international competitions remains a distant goal, federations should at least ensure adequate qualification of players. Sanaullah suggested that those unable to fulfill these responsibilities should step down from their positions.
