Former cricketer turned commentator Ramiz Raja has announced his partial withdrawal from the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 9 commentary panel, citing prior commitments to the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL). Raja took to Twitter to inform fans of his unavailability for the entirety of the PSL season, attributing the clash in schedules to his prior agreement with the BPL. Although expressing regret over missing out on commentating duties for most of the PSL season, Raja assured fans that he will join the commentary panel during the second phase matches held in Rawalpindi and Karachi. This development follows Raja's exclusion from the commentary panel in the previous season due to reported conflicts with the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), an issue the former cricketer has openly voiced in the past.
The Pakistan Cricket Board had recently unveiled the commentary panel for PSL 9, featuring notable names like former Australian captain Michael Clarke, Ian Bishop, Danny Morrison, Simon Udol, Pomi M. Bangua, Mark Butcher, Dominic Cork, and Mike Heisman. Among Pakistani commentators are Waqar Younis, Bazid Khan, Aamir Sohail, along with Urooj Mumtaz, Sana Mir, and Marina Iqbal. Tariq Saeed and Ali Younis will provide commentary in Urdu, while Erin Holland and Zainab Abbas will serve as presenters for the tournament. Despite Raja's absence for most of the season, fans can still expect an exciting lineup of commentators and presenters for the upcoming PSL 9 matches.
