Since its debut at the London Games in 1948, Pakistan has secured just 11 Olympic medals over the past 76 years. Historical records reveal that despite relentless effort from Pakistani athletes, the nation has won only 4 gold, 3 silver, and 4 bronze medals. The last gold medal before Arshad Nadeem’s historic win in the Paris 2024 Olympics was achieved by Pakistan's hockey team at the Los Angeles Olympics in 1984. Arshad Nadeem's gold in Javelin Throw is particularly significant as it marks Pakistan's first individual Olympic gold medal. Previously, all of Pakistan’s gold medals were won by the hockey team. Additionally, Nadeem’s win follows a 32-year gap since Pakistan’s bronze medal in hockey at the 1992 Barcelona Olympics.
