The Men in Green remain unbeaten as this marks their fourth victory in the competition, having previously triumphed over Australia, West Indies, and India. Earlier, Pakistan recorded a score of 196/4 after being asked to bat first by England. The Men in Green suffered early losses of Kamran Akmal (11) and Sharjeel Khan (13) as openers. But a 121-run partnership between Sohaib Maqsood and Shoaib Malik laid the foundation for Pakistan to achieve a significant total. Maqsood made 44 balls while Malik made 33 balls. Misbahul Haq, who is leading the side, hit 14 balls, while Abdul Razzaq hit 9 balls. Meaker finished as England's best bowler, finishing with figures of 2/25.

Pakistan defended their 197-run target by dismissing England captain Kevin Pietersen early. Phil Mustard was able to keep England in the game.
