Brandon King continued in the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) where he left off on the international stage with some sparkling batting performances. The Jamaica Tallawahs captain has so far been the star performer in the early matches of the CPL with two match-winning half centuries which have seen the defending champions at the top of the points standings. This comes just after his electrifying batting for West Indies against India when he made an eye-catching career-best 85 not out in the final match of the T20 International Series against India at the Broward County Stadium in Fort Lauderdale. West Indies won that series 3-2.
On Wednesday night at Warner Park, the free-scoring King produced a magnificent innings of 67 off just 33 balls with seven four and four sixes as the confident Tallawahs raced to an eight-win victory over hosts St Kitts and Nevis Patriots. Last week he again top scored with 81 with nine fours and three sixes to anchor the innings. This enabled as the Jamaicans to open their campaign with victory by 11 runs against hosts St Lucia Kings at the Daren Sammy Cricket Ground. The tournament continues on Thursday night at Warner Park with the home team St Kitts and Nevis facing Guyana Amazon Warriors. First ball is 7pm (6pm Jamaica Time).
