The Islamabad High Court has issued notices to key parties in the case against the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) for barring sports journalists from coverage. The court has demanded a response from the PCB for failing to issue accreditation cards, summoning the board's secretary in a personal capacity. Justice Babar Sattar, who presided over the hearing, emphasized that media coverage is a fundamental right of journalists. Senior advocate Abdul Wahid Qureshi represented the petitioning journalists in court. The case was initiated following a petition filed by the Sports Journalists Association, which has also named the federation, Patron-in-Chief Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Cabinet Secretary, and Chairman PCB Mohsin Naqvi as respondents. The court has adjourned the hearing until tomorrow (Thursday).
