Hong Kong Cricket Sixes tournament returns after seven yearsBreaking

Iconic Hong Kong International Cricket Sixes is set to make a thrilling comeback this November. The tournament, sanctioned by the International Cricket Council (ICC), will take place from November 1-3, 2024, at the Tin Kwong Road Cricket Ground, featuring 12 nations competing over three electrifying days. After a seven-year hiatus, the Hong Kong Sixes will be revived as the fastest format of cricket Cricket Hong Kong, China (CHK), a member of the ICC, is organizing the tournament, which has a storied past featuring legendary cricketers like Sachin Tendulkar, Shane Warne, and M.S. Dhoni.

The event has attracted teams from India, Australia, England, Pakistan, South Africa, and more, garnering a worldwide fanbase. The reigning champions, South Africa, claimed the 2017 title by defeating Pakistan in the final. South Africa and England lead with the most Hong Kong Sixes titles, each winning five, followed by Pakistan with four titles. Sri Lanka, Australia, India, and the West Indies have each won one title. Chairperson of Cricket Hong Kong, China, Burji Shroff, expressed excitement about the tournament’s return, stating, “We are thrilled to bring back this iconic event that showcases our city as a truly world city and a sporting capital of East Asia to the world and our cricket credentials.”
