England secured a dominant victory over Pakistan in the first Test of the series in Multan winning by an innings and 47 runs on Day 5. Jack Leach was the standout bowler, taking 4 wickets in Pakistan's second innings to help wrap up the match. Pakistan, bowled out for 220 in their second innings, fell short after England’s massive first-innings total of 823/7d. Pakistan's lower order struggled, with Naseem Shah and Shaheen Shah Afridi both falling to Leach, the latter caught and bowled after a sharp reflex grab. Naseem attempted a final show of resistance, smashing a six before being stumped, sealing England’s comprehensive victory. Despite brief resistance from Aamer Jamal, who top-scored with 55, Pakistan could not overcome England's imposing lead. England's bowlers, especially Leach and Brydon Carse, kept the pressure on throughout the innings. The win gives England a 1-0 lead in the series.
