A woman was shot dead Wednesday by unidentified suspects at Marian Bus Stop, Lahore, police said on Wednesday. The incident took place in the jurisdiction of Garden Town police station. According to police, the deceased was identified as Urooj Fatima, 40. She stood at the bus stop when the accused fired four shots at her, leaving her with critical injuries. She was rushed to Jinnah Hospital for treatment where she died.

Her body was shifted to a mortuary for medico-legal formalities. The police collected the evidence with the help of the forensic team, and they are investigating the incident from different aspects. “More facts will come to the fore in the course of investigations,” police said. “Footages are being obtained from the CCTV cameras installed at the crime scene to identify the accused,” they added.
