The chilly embrace of winter tightened its hold on various parts of the country on Monday, as rain showers blanketed regions including Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Kashmir. In Peshawar, the weather took a sharp turn towards freezing temperatures following a spell of rain, sending shivers down the spines of residents. The downpour, measuring a notable 12 millimeters since the onset of night, has left its mark on the cityscape, with the mercury plummeting to a minimum of 8 degrees Celsius. However, the aftermath of the rain has brought forth its own set of challenges, as rivers swelled to the brink, exacerbating concerns for citizens already grappling with the wintry conditions. Meanwhile, in Lahore, a drizzle descended upon different areas, casting a pall of gloom over bustling streets. Drops of rain were reported around Liberty Chowk, Kalma Chowk, Gulbarg, and Gaddafi Stadium, contributing to a palpable drop in temperatures across the city. The onset of cold winds in Lahore has further intensified the chill, underscoring the winter's unyielding grasp on the region.
