A woman allegedly shot and killed her 40-year-old husband during a domestic dispute in Shams Colony, Uch Sharif, police said on Monday. Police arrested the woman, identified as Shumaila, and recovered the pistol allegedly used in the shooting. According to police, the suspect fled after the incident and hid at a neighbour’s house, where she was later arrested. Sources said the couple had married five years ago without their parents’ consent and had reportedly been facing domestic disputes.

The husband had allegedly taught his wife how to use the pistol kept at their home, according to the sources. Police said the suspect allegedly confessed to the shooting during initial questioning and provided details of the incident. Her husband’s body was shifted to a hospital for a post-mortem examination, and further investigation is under way. A case has been registered on the complaint of the victim’s brother, Yousuf Chachar. According to the FIR, Shumaila shot and killed her husband, Younus Chachar.

The FIR further alleges that the woman committed the killing at the behest of her brothers, Ayaz, Ijaz and Fida Hussain. The complainant said Younus had been involved in litigation with the woman’s brothers. Police sources said the woman’s brothers were also allegedly present at the time of the incident. Police have initiated legal proceedings and are investigating the circumstances surrounding the killing. Earlier, a woman allegedly killed her husband and injured their three young daughters with a knife during a domestic dispute in Jaranwala, police said on Wednesday.

According to police, the incident took place in Shehri Awana, where the woman, identified as Gulshan Bibi, allegedly attacked her husband, Khalid, with a knife. Police said Gulshan allegedly stabbed Khalid in the neck and abdomen, resulting in his death. The woman also allegedly attacked her three daughters with a knife, injuring 10-year-old Aneeka, eight-year-old Anaya and four-year-old Aiza.
