Anti-Corruption Establishment (ACE) Multan Region arrested District Drug Controller Vehari, Mrs. Rubina Taj for allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 50,000. The special sting operation was conducted under the supervision of Senior Civil Judge Asif Niaz. According to official sources, Director General ACE Punjab, Suhail Zafar Chattha, had issued strict directives to all regional directors to apprehend corrupt individuals and bring them to justice. The arrest unfolded after Malik Nadeem, a resident of Vehari, lodged a complaint with the Anti-Corruption Office, reporting that Rubina Taj demanded a bribe of Rs 50,000 to dismiss a case. Acting promptly, Regional Director Basharat Nabi ordered an immediate trap raid. Circle Officer Vehari, executing the raid, caught Rubina Taj red-handed while allegedly accepting the bribe from Malik Nadeem. Marked currency notes were recovered from the accused, leading to her arrest on the spot. This operation, following the DG’s special instructions, aimed to set a stern example of zero tolerance towards corruption. A case has been registered and further investigation underway.
