Two wanted suspects killed in TaxilaBreaking

April 28, 2026

Two wanted suspects on Tuesday were killed during a law enforcement operation in the Taxila area, the official sources said. The operation was carried out by the Crime Control Department (CCD) within the jurisdiction of Taxila police station as a police team attempted to arrest a proclaimed offender and his associates, the sources added.

The suspects opened resistance during the raid, triggering a shootout. Both suspects were killed at the scene, and weapons were recovered from their possession, they said. A police constable, identified as Jameel, was struck in the chest during the exchange but was not injured, reportedly because he was wearing a bulletproof vest.

The police said the suspects had prior criminal records across the Rawalpindi-Islamabad region, including alleged involvement in vehicle theft, robbery, and crimes against minors. The police also linked the suspects to the recent abduction of a 12-year-old student from the Railway Ground area in Dhoke Hassu. The child was later recovered, and officials said a ransom had been demanded.
