Two wanted dacoits shot dead in Lahore encounterBreaking

Two notorious dacoits were gunned down during an alleged encounter with police in Lahore on Friday morning. As per police, the two dacoits, identified as Muhammad Imran alias Chhota and Latif alias Teefa, were wanted in police record in connection with a number of cases. Police said both the dacoits were killed in firing of their own comrades. Personnel of Organised Crime Unit City were taking the dacoits to Shahdara police station for recovers and arrest of their gang member proclaimed offender Muhammad Iqbal, who along with his associated, opened indiscriminate firing on the police party. The firing resulted in serious injuries to Imran and Latif who were rushed to a hospital but succumbed to their wounds on the way. DSP Mian Qadeer Ahmad said the two were wanted in several cases of murder, attempted murder and dacoities. During the shootout, sub-inspector Shan and Constable Haider Ali were hit by one bullet each in the chest but they both were safe for wearing bulletproof vests. The attackers fled from the scene due to darkness.
