The two-day 8th annual mango festival will open from July 26 at Muhammad Nawaz Sharif University of Agriculture during which the growers will display over 100 varieties of ‘King of Fruits’. The event titled ‘EcoSmart Mango Production’, will feature mango disk making and other competitions besides an informative moot on new technology for growing and value addition of the fruit. Organizer of the event, Dr Mubashir Mehdi informed on Thursday that more than 50 growers would present their best quality mangoes at the festival. Punjab Minister for Agriculture, Syed Ashiq Hussain Shah will inaugurate the festival at MNSUA on Friday. He said mango variety and dish making competitions would also be organized. A poetic sitting, musical and cultural night will also be part of the festival, he said and added that visitors will enjoy at the annual festivity.
