Two brothers were killed in the name of honour in Talagang on Wednesday. According to initial reports, the incident of double honour killings happened in Phatar area in the jurisdiction of Tamman police in which two brothers – Sajid Shah and Mehboob Shah – were killed by firing in the name of honour while two others – Amir Shah and Zulquernain Shah – were seriously injured in the incident. Upon receiving information, Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) Talagang Mazhar Ahmad Gondal and Station House Officer (SHO) of police station Tamman Tariq Mehmood along with a heavy contingent reached the spot and cordoned off the area. The aforementioned team was formed on the instructions of District Police Officer Chakwal Kamran Nawaz Panjotha. The dead bodies were taken into custody by the police which sent them to Tehsil Headquarters (THQ) Hospital Talagang for post-mortem while the injured were rushed to THQ Hospital for emergency medical treatment. The Crime Scene Unit and Punjab Forensic Science Agency (PFSA) teams were also called to collect evidence in order to proceed further in the investigation.
According to the SDPO, raids are being conducted to arrest the assailants and soon the suspects will be arrested and brought to justice. “All technical resources will be utilized to arrest the accused,” he added. Youth shot dead in Gujrat clash A youth was shot dead and another was seriously injured after a fight broke out between two groups over a minor issue in Gujrat on Wednesday. As per details, the two groups clashed over construction in the street in Muhallah Rehmanpura area of Gujrat that led to a full-fledged gunfight between the two sides. Resultantly, a young man, identified as Adeeb, was killed by the firing of the rival group and another was seriously wounded. The injured is identified as Rashid alias Nomi. As soon as the incident was reported, the police rushed to the crime scene along with a heavy contingent. The police shifted the body of the deceased and the injured to Aziz Bhatti Hospital and detained four suspects after conducting raids.
