Two Afghans among 3 murder suspects killed in Peshawar encounterBreaking

Members of the Nooray gang, who were wanted by the police for murdering six people, were gunned down during a police encounter in Peshawar on Friday. The police encounter took place in the jurisdiction of Phandokey Police Station in Peshawar. The dead proclaimed offenders were later identified as Garan Wali, Ali Khan alias Sheena, residents of Afghanistan, and Zebeehullah, a resident of Barey Bagh. The police further revealed that two accused were residents of Afghanistan.

Police also recovered a Kalashnikov and two pistols from their possession. Earlier on September 1, 2026, three suspects were killed during a police encounter near Peshawar’s Northern Bypass. Police said the suspects opened fire on the law enforcement personnel when officers moved to intercept them. The suspects also used hand grenades during the exchange of fire, injuring two Station House Officers (SHOs). One of the suspects killed in the encounter was identified as wanted criminal Mumtaz, also known as Mumtazay. Police said he had been wanted in connection with various criminal cases.
