The Counter Terrorism Department police during targeted search operations in various districts across Punjab have arrested 11 terrorists including a key commander of banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP). A CTD spokesman told media men on Saturday that targeted operations were conducted in various areas of Lahore, Sargodha, Jhang, Bahawalpur, Sahiwal, Narowal and Jhelum districts. The arrested terrorists were identified as Gull Shahdin, Kazim, Nawab, Osama, Ijaz, Zaheer, Mustafa Khan and Rasool Khan. The CTD also claimed to recover suicide jackets, IED bombs, 2 detonators, 11 security fuses, 17 prime cards and cash from the possession of the terrorists. TTP key commander who was arrested from Bahawalpur received terror training from Afghanistan. The arrested terrorists were planning attacks on state installations. The CTD official said during the current week, more than 790 combing operations were conducted by the security officials and more than 33546 suspects were interrogated. The CTD is committed to eradicate poverty from the province.
