Truck loaded with kite-flying material seizedBreaking

The Airport Police have seized a truck loaded with kite-flying material and arrested a supplier during a major operation, a Rawalpindi Police spokesman said on Friday.According to the spokesman, the police recovered 20,000 kites and 100 reels of string from the vehicle. The arrested supplier was allegedly planning to distribute the banned material in various parts of the city. He said the police received information about the transportation of a large quantity of kites and string, following which a raid was conducted and the truck was intercepted.

A case was registered against the suspect, the spokesman said, adding that the Rawalpindi Police, on the directions of City Police Officer (CPO) Syed Khalid Mahmood Hamdani, would continue a crackdown against the “deadly sport”. Superintendent of Police, Potohar, Sardar Babar Mumtaz Khan appreciated the Airport Police for seizing a large quantity of kites. Being a non-bailable offence, those involved in the “bloody sport” would not be allowed to evade the law, he added.
