An election tribunal has declared transgender Nayab Ali eligible to contest elections. An election appellate tribunal of the Islamabad High Court on Wednesday announced the decision and rejected an appeal against the acceptance of transgender Nayab Ali’s nomination papers by the returning officer. The reserved decision was announced by tribunal judge, Justice Arbab Muhammad Tahir. Another transgender registered voter from Multan, Nadeem Ali Zafar, filed an appeal against acceptance of Nayab’s papers. Justice Arbab upheld the RO decision and rejected the appeal.
