Railways Minister Muhammad Hanif Abbasi has said that the tree plantation drive launched in collaboration with the Punjab government is a vital step towards developing eco-friendly railways and creating a green, pollution-free Punjab.In a statement issued on Thursday at the launch of the plantation campaign along the railway track, he said that planting trees along railway lines would significantly help reduce air pollution.
He added that the Ministry of Railways would extend full support to ensure the success of this initiative.The minister stated that the scope of the tree plantation drive along railway tracks would soon be expanded across the entire province.He reiterated that the campaign was being carried out under Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif’s Green and Clean Punjab vision, aimed at improving the environment for future generations.
