A tree plantation campaign was launched in Haripur through a joint initiative of Hazara Forest Department and the Turkish organization Khubaib Foundation on Thursday.The event saw enthusiastic participation from local residents, students, female teachers and the foundation's management, who planted trees to support environmental conservation.The campaign was inaugurated by Divisional DFO Hazara, Aqeel Abbasi and Director General of Khubaib Foundation, Brigadier (R) Muhammad Iftikhar, by planting the first sapling.
The Forest Department provided a large number of fruit-bearing saplings, which were planted at various locations during the event. Speaking after the inauguration, DFO Aqeel Abbasi and DG Khubaib Foundation Brigadier (R) Muhammad Iftikhar emphasized that tree plantation has become a necessity in view of the growing impacts of climate change.
They said every citizen should not only plant trees but also take responsibility for protecting them to help build a greener and more sustainable Pakistan. The speakers also urged the public, especially the younger generation, to actively participate in the plantation drive by planting more trees and playing their role in protecting the environment.
