The Punjab Transport Department has intensified crackdowns against vehicles emitting smoke in Lahore. On directions of transport department and district government, action against smoke emitting vehicles has been accelerated. Headed by Secretary Regional Transport Authority (RTA), six squads have been constituted for action against vehicles which lack fitness certificate and emitting smoke. Secretary RTA along with team challaned various smoke emitting vehicles the other day and impose heavy fines on them. He said that the step was taken to control smog as health of citizens was department’s top priority and the actions will continue.
