Indus Motor Company Limited, responsible for assembling Toyota vehicles in Pakistan, has decided to temporarily halt production until October 9. This announcement was conveyed in a notice submitted to the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX). The company cited its current vehicle inventory levels as the basis for this decision and specified that the production plant would be closed from September 28 through October 9. This temporary production halt follows a series of previous closures.
Indus Motor Company Limited had previously ceased production from August 25 to September 6, citing low demand and inventory levels as the reasons behind the move. Additionally, the company had shut down its production plant from July 21 to August 3 also, due to challenges in the import of raw materials, difficulties in clearing consignments, and supply disruptions from certain foreign vendors. These issues had disrupted the company supply chain, resulting in inadequate inventory levels to sustain production. Furthermore, a similar production halt had occurred from June 26 to June 27 for the same reasons.
