The district police have arrested three suspected drug traffickers and seized 16 kilograms of hashish during a checking operation in the limits of Dera Town police station, police said on Friday.Acting on the directions of District Police Officer Ziauddin Ahmed, a team led by Dera Town SHO Gulsher Khan, under the supervision of SP City Division Muhammad Nauman and DSP Suburb Circle Muhammad Imran Kundi, stopped a Flying Coach bearing registration number (BRA-095) coming from Zhob here at the Khhutti checkpost on a tip-off.

A search of the vehicle led to the recovery of 16kg hashish and the arrest of three suspects identified as Khan Muhammad, his wife Maryam Bibi, both residents of Tank, and Shumaila Bibi, a resident of Lakki Marwat. A case was registered against the suspects while the further investigation was underway.The DPO said police operations against drug peddlers, smugglers and other anti-social elements would be continued without any discrimination.
