The Islamabad Capital Police (ICTP) recently organized a three-day road safety internship program for volunteers from the Red Crescent. The program was aimed at promoting traffic law awareness and road safety education. Over 20 dedicated Red Crescent volunteers participated in the program, which was conducted under the guidance of Islamabad Capital City Police Officer (ICCPO) Dr. Akbar Nasir Khan. The volunteers gained valuable insights into various facets of traffic management, including technical intricacies and real-life field operations. The program also included training on radio production, on-air training, broadcasting techniques, licensing procedures, and traffic laws. At the end of the program, the volunteers were awarded certificates of completion. Chief Traffic Officer Dr. Syed Mustafa Tanveer praised the dedication and commitment of the volunteers and highlighted their invaluable contribution towards fostering a culture of friendly policing.
He emphasized that with the continued support of the younger generation, the ICTP can achieve even greater performance milestones. He expressed confidence that these volunteers will serve as future ambassadors, playing a significant role in safeguarding the lives of citizens and road users in the capital. The internship program was a success and it is hoped that it will be held again in the future. It is a valuable initiative that will help to create a safer and more informed road environment for everyone in Islamabad.
