Terrorist killed, another blows himself up in QuettaBreaking

April 28, 2025

A terrorist was killed and another blew himself up during a heavy exchange of fire with Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) personnel in Quetta on Monday. Both dead terrorists were affiliated with banned outfit Da’esh. The firing incident took place in Darakhshan area of Quetta, where the CTD personnel recovered a suicide jacket and large quantity of arms and ammunition from the possession of the dead terrorists.  The shootout lasted for over an hour.

CTD sources said that these hardened terrorists were planning a terrorist activity in the province but timely action by the CTD foiled their nefarious design. Earlier on April 18, 2025, five terrorists were slain when they were locked in a gunfight with the personnel of Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) in Balochistan city of Duki. According to security sources, the dead bodies of the terrorists, involved in attacks on labourers and security forces, have been sent to Quetta.

According to a CTD spokesperson, the operation was conducted on an intelligence tip-off regarding the presence of militants linked to a banned outfit. The suspects opened fire upon seeing the law enforcement personnel, leading to a fierce gunbattle in which all five militants were killed. “The slain terrorists were involved in a series of targeted attacks on workers, civilians, and law enforcement agencies, particularly in the Quetta mining region,” CTD officials stated, adding they also had a history of kidnappings.
