The district administration of Swabi has arrested six people and seized heavy machinery during a crackdown on illegal mining in Tehsil Topi. According to the officials on Wednesday, acting on the special instructions of Deputy Commissioner Swabi Gohar Ali Khan, Assistant Commissioners Adnan Khattak, Allah Nawaz Khan and Zeeshan Najeeb raided the Pontia area of Tehsil Topi and apprehended six individuals involved in illegal mining activities. The raiding team also confiscated excavators, tractors, and dumpers used in the illegal operation. Cases have been registered against the arrested individuals, identified as Azeem Khan, Aamir, Irfanullah, Zahoor Khan, Shah Fahad, and Rasar Jalal Khan. The district administration has vowed to continue its crackdown on illegal mining, which is a major environmental hazard and causes significant damage to the region's natural resources.
