The district administration, in collaboration with the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Forest Department, has formally launched the spring tree plantation campaign 2026 to provide clean and healthy environment for citizens. According to the administration, the inauguration ceremony was led by the Commissioner of Dawood Khan and the Deputy Commissioner Abdul Nasir who planted saplings to mark the official start of the campaign.

According to the administration Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Adnan Jameel and Additional Deputy Commissioner (Finance and Planning) Farhan Khan also participated in the ceremony and contributed by planting trees. It says a target has been set to plant 600,000 saplings of various species across the district during the campaign. 

Authorities added that the initiative was being carried out under the directives of the Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to combat climate change, reduce air pollution, and promote a greener and more sustainable environment in the region. Citizens have also been urged to actively participate in the plantation drive and ensure proper care and protection of the planted saplings so they can grow into healthy trees.
