Rashid Shafiq the ex-MNA and Sheikh Rasheed's nephew on Saturday revealed that some hidden elements were being pressurized the ex-interior minister and AML Chief Sheikh Rasheed to change his loyalty but the former minister was stick to his stance of standing along PTI Chairman Imran Khan. The AML chief Sheikh Rasheed has been in the jail for few days after a court in Islamabad approved his judicial remand in a case pertaining to murder plot allegations against former president Asif Ali Zardari. He stated that his uncle Sheikh Rasheed has been forced to change loyalties and to create distance from Chairman Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Imran Khan but Sheikh Rashid is standing with Imran Khan through thick and thin.
While talking to the media persons, he disclosed that last night he received a call from the jail department who said that they were not producing Sheikh Rashid before Magistrate on Saturday. He said the Jail Superintendent demanded to bring orders from Returning Officer (RO) and refused to accept both orders from Magistrate. He said that Returning Officer (RO) had approved the nomination papers of Sheikh Rashid to contest the election, but more than one thousand banners of Sheikh Rashid have been removed by the administration. Earlier, Awami Muslim League (AML) chief Sheikh Rashid Ahmed on Friday approached the Islamabad High Court (IHC) for post-arrest bail in the case regarding his allegations against Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Co-chair Asif Ali Zardari of plotting the assassination of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan.
