The Border Military Police (BMP) in Dera Ghazi Khan has recovered 575 sacks of smuggled sugar and a large quantity of Iranian diesel and petrol during various operations in the past few weeks. According to media reports, a BMP team under the supervision of Political Assistant Mushtaq Ahmed Tawana seized 575 sacks of 50 kg sugar loaded on two trucks from Buata border. An FIR has been filed against the truck owners. In another operation, the BMP seized 97,610 liters of petrol and diesel in fifteen days and registered an FIR against 39 suspects. 73 people were also arrested. The BMP is continuing operations against smugglers and the sugar mafia in tribal areas.The seizures are a major blow to smugglers and the sugar mafia, who have been profiting from the illegal trade of sugar and Iranian oil. The BMP's actions will help to protect the Pakistani economy and the interests of consumers.
