The residents of different areas of Chitral have demanded of the authorities concerned to shift the Golain water supply pipeline prior widening and mettling of Booni Road. Laid from natural water springs some 12 years earlier at estimated cost of Rs440 million, the Golain water pipeline provides to over 50,000 population of main Chitral town. The National Highway Authority (NHA) has now decided to widen Chitral Road from 12 feet to 34 feet due to which the pipeline which was earlier running along one side of the road will now become in centre and will be buried under the mettled road.

 It was feared that the burying of pipeline will not only damaged newly constructed road due leakage of water but in case of any fault in the pipeline, the concerned staff will have to dig the road for its repair. Therefore, the local people and experts suggested to shift the pipeline prior started work on the project regarding widening of Chitral road.
