Senior judge of the Lahore High Court, Justice Shujaat Ali Khan, has formally declined to serve on the Rawalpindi Bench due to health concerns. In a letter sent by Justice Shujaat Ali Khan’s personal assistant to the Registrar of Lahore High Court, the judge expressed his inability to perform his duties at the Rawalpindi Bench. The letter stated that Justice Shujaat Ali Khan is prepared to fulfill his judicial responsibilities at the Lahore Principal Seat. The letter further mentioned that Justice Shujaat Ali Khan had undergone surgery, making it difficult for him to travel to Rawalpindi. The Acting Chief Justice of Lahore High Court had already been informed about his surgery. His doctor has advised against long journeys, and as a result, Justice Shujaat Ali Khan has requested to resume his duties at the Lahore Principal Seat starting next week.
