Authorities have tightened security measures in Faizabad and adjacent areas of Rawalpindi in anticipation of a potential “long march” by the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI). According to media reports, all hotels in and around the Faizabad area have been closed, while restaurants and shopkeepers have been instructed to shut their businesses by this evening. Directives have also been issued to close all traveller lodges and transport terminals in Faizabad starting tonight. Movement and business activities in the area are being restricted due to the possibility of protests and the arrival of participants in the march.

Police sources said that, in view of the security situation, additional personnel are being deployed at key locations, along with other precautionary measures. Surveillance is also expected to be intensified in Faizabad and surrounding areas ahead of the possible arrival of PTI supporters. Security arrangements are being tightened across various parts of Rawalpindi and Islamabad amid the possibility of protests or long-march activities planned by the PTI. The administration may also introduce further measures to regulate the movement of citizens and the operation of businesses in sensitive areas.
