Several private schools in Peshawar announced closures on Friday citing the city’s volatile political climate as the reason. Partial disruptions to the mobile phone network were also reported. Parents of students at the affected schools received WhatsApp messages from administrators informing them of the closures. The closures impacted schools in Hayatabad, Nasir Bagh Road, and University Road areas. School owners attributed the decision to close to concerns over public safety and security in the city. The partial mobile network outage further contributed to the disruption. A three-day jirga held Jamrud. CM Ali Amin gandapur has been given authority to hold talks with the jirga to solve security related issues.
