PML-N senior leader Khawaja Saad Rafique has suggested the PTI to join hands with the PPP and form a government at the Centre as his party has no desire to take the lead. In a post uploaded on X social platform on Saturday, Saad Rafique maintained that no one absolute majority in the newly-elected National Assembly. “The formation of the federal government is the joint responsibility of all the parties in the Parliament, not only of the PML-N,” he added. The former federal minister said independent MNAs supported by the PTI should take the initiative and form a joint federal government with the PPP. “I will extend my greetings to you as the PML-N has no desire to do that,” he added. PTI leader Hammad Azhar was quick to respond, saying “By stealing half of our seats they now say form a government.
“Restore the public’s real mandate as per Form 45, they we will form such ‘fine’ governments at the Centre and in Punjab that the public will not even elect your 17 members next time. And in future, no one will think of cheating in a single ballot slip,” he added. In an earlier post, Saad Rafique said after approaching Maulana Fazlur Rehman, the PTI will take another U-turn by knocking at the door of Asif Ali Zardari. “If the PTI had held talks instead of targeting the political rivals consistently, they would not have found themselves in this quagmire. Imran Khan is himself is the major beneficiary of this tug-of-war,” he added.
