Armed robbers gunned down a businessman upon resistance during a robbery in a cash and carry mart here on Wednesday. Police said that two armed robbers in the guise of customers barged into a cash and carry mart near Makhad Road, Jand police station jurisdiction in Attock. The robbers took the staff hostage and snatched cash worth hundreds of thousands rupees. Owner of the cash and carry mart identified as Waseem Abbas offered resistance after which the robbers shot him injured and fled with looted cash.

The injured was rushed to local hospital where he succumbed to his wounds. The enraged business community of the area held strong protest against the incident by blocking road and demanded to arrest the culprits at earliest. The police assured the protesting businessmen of arresting the murderers after which they dispersed peacefully. Meanwhile, the police registered a case into the incident and started investigation.
