Punjab Caretaker Chief Minister Punjab Mohsin Naqvi has said that rights of cotton growers would be ensured under all circumstances. In a statement issued here on Tuesday, he said that the Punjab government will not allow sale of cotton produced by the farmers less than 8,500 per maund. Mohsin Naqvi said that cotton farmers will be compensated for their labour and the provincial government was taking all necessary steps in this regard. The cotton crop was the guarantee of the prosperity of the farmer and the development of the country, he maintained. The caretaker chief minister said that steps were being taken at all levels to ensure the price of cotton to the farmers and field teams of the agriculture department have also been mobi.
