The distribution of ration among deserving people for the holy month of Ramadan under the 'Ramadan Nigehban Ration Package', announced by Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, has begun, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Thursday. Deputy Commissioner (DC) Sheikhupura Dr. Waqar Ali Khan, who is busy distributing bags of ration among deserving people, has said that ration would be provided to over 230,000 people in the district at their doorstep. Similarly, Additional Deputy Commissioner Revenue Administrator Baldia Syeda Tehniat Bukhari, who is also going door to door for the purpose, has said that the verification of lists of deserving people registered in the BISP and NADRA records is in its final stages after which the distribution of ration will begin formally. “By 10th of Ramadan, all needy people will get ration,” she has said, adding, “Merit and transparency will be ensured.” Tehniat has said that the Punjab Food Authority will ensure the quality of these food items.
